Symposium on hand conditions offers practice-relevant insight on patient assessment, management

Abbotsford plastic surgeon Dr. Micheal Liss led an engaging presentation and discussion with health-care providers at a recent symposium hosted by the Abbotsford Division of Family Practice.
More than 50 primary care doctors, nurse practitioners and allied health professionals attended Liss’s talk focusing on assessment, management and referrals relating to hand trauma and other common hand conditions.

In his presentation, Liss provided some practical approaches for evaluating hand trauma, evaluating red flags, and best practices on when and how to refer patients to specialists.

With a strong focus on trauma and reconstructive care, Liss’s practice includes hand trauma, peripheral nerve injuries, common hand conditions, care for skin cancer, and complex soft-tissue injuries.

This symposium is one of several educational events hosted by the Abbotsford Division throughout the year, aimed at providing valuable, practice-relevant and timely insights for primary care providers across B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
