Access to community and health services following Abbotsford Hub’s closure

By ADoFP staff

Following the recent closure of the Abbotsford Community Hub Centre location, Fraser Health has provided a list of resources that supports gaps in services that may have resulted from the Hub’s closure.

On March 31, Hub’s location on South Fraser Way permanently closed, with its operator Phoenix Society announcing the discontinuation of its services in Abbotsford. The Hub has been delivering essential harm-reduction services for the community since 2020, including overdose prevention and HIV support services.

In a statement, Phoenix Society said it is “unable to continue operating at the current location beyond this date, and despite extensive efforts, we have been unable to secure an alternative site or partnership to continue service delivery in Abbotsford.”

For alternative harm reduction and health services, community members can also also visit the City of Abbotsford’s ACCESS site.
